B&B: Burgers and Brewskies

Hello, I'm back... again teehee! Can't believe my last post was during New Year's, and it's already the 2nd half of the year! So much has happened, but rather than blogging about that, I'll just post about food hihi Sounds good? Anyway, I normally wouldn't blog if I didn't feel like it, but I really do miss writing here *ugly cry* It's really funny because I don't blog regularly (Obviously...), but I've been getting messages from friends and strangers, asking me to blog about a certain restaurant or event. It feels good though that people actually read my blog, let alone know that I own one lol

Anyway, moving on to the food part. I was contacted by my cousin's friend, Aldous, who asked me to attend a food tasting blogger event at Burgers and Brewskies in Estancia, Capitol Commons. I've actually tried this burger joint at their first branch in Burgos Circle, BGC sometime last year. I had their Call the Nurse burger, and I honestly thought it was just okay. I was quite disappointed during my first time there so I really wanted to give B&B another try.

Traffic was really terrible so by the time my cousin, Issa and I got there, we were already starving! I like the ambiance of this branch better than the one in Burgos Circle. It's definitely a cool place to hang out with your officemates if you just want to drink and chill after a long day at work. I especially love the "Blah Blah Blah Drink!!" lettering on the wall!

Aside from their burgers, you can also enjoy a wide range of local and imported beers from their bar. "We just wanted to keep it simple," says owner Marc Nocon on this burger joint's name, Burgers and Brewskies. Marc, together with his 2 other partners, Mike Floro and Francis Balbarin, wanted to attract the drinking crowd around the Ortigas area; hence, opening this second branch just late last year.

Before the burgers, we first had various appetizers, such as the Honey Garlic Wings, Bacon Chicharon, Buffalo Balls and Chili Cheese Fries. The Bacon Chicharon was my favorite among the appetizers; the rest was just okay. They have yet to include the Buffalo Balls into their menu so it was fun being able to try something that's not even out to the public. If only I had the time (and fast metabolism lol), I would definitely love to write about food everyday.

Moving on to the burgers, I had a food coma after this since I wanted to try every single burger on the table, most of which are made with 1/3 lb 100% U.S. Beef Patties. I really admire B&B's fearless attempts at creating unique mix of flavors. Just showing how imaginative their burger concepts are, they even had a Chinese New Year special!

I liked B&B's numerous options for the picky eater as well. If you're a vegetarian, their Don't Have A Cow! burger is perfect for you. On the other hand, if you prefer something a little bit spicier (And if you're a Breaking Bad fan like myself too), you'll surely enjoy the Hector Salamanca burger. I'm also glad they improved the taste of their Call the Nurse burger, but personally, my favorite was the Walk of Shame. It's definitely the ultimate breakfast burger.

Don't Have A Cow! // Red lentil & bulgur wheat patty, roasted garlic aioli, B&B curry ketchup & Shiitake mushrooms sautéed with garlic and onions

Hector Salamanca // B&B chili oil, B&B cheese sauce, Jalapeño crema, tomato salsa & crisp nacho strips

P. Sherman // New England style fish cakes, spiced mustard aioli, B&B cheese sauce, roasted sweet peppers, topped with fried basil leaves

Call the Nurse // Spiced mustard aioli, B&B cheese sauce, seared Mac and Cheese & honey Sriracha bacon

Kandi // Roasted garlic aioli, B&B cheese sauce, onion confit & spiced candied bacon

Walk of Shame // Spiced mustard aioli, B&B cheese sauce, egg-in-a-whole wheat bun, crispy bacon, crisp potato hay & B&B lemonnaise

Of course a meal (or meals...) wouldn't be complete without desssert! Marc was kind enough to let us taste their Creamy Soy Panna Cotta and B&B Chocolate Pudding. He even joked how they love putting bacon on just about anything. Not that we're complaining! Bacon is life hihi I enjoyed the B&B Chocolate Pudding since I like dark chocolate, but the Creamy Soy Panna Cotta works as well since the bacon's saltiness truly complements the flavor of the soy milk Panna Cotta.

Creamy Soy Panna Cotta // Smooth soy milk Panna Cotta topped with B&B's spiced candied bacon bits

B&B Chocolate Pudding // Rich dark chocolate custard topped with crunchy cinnamon oatmeal streusel

B&B: Burgers and Brewskies // Ground Floor, Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons, Oranbo, Pasig City

Unlike their BGC branch, they had a DJ on deck that Wednesday night. Marc also told me that if I like acoustic music, I should go on a Thursday. Either way, I would happily eat my Bacon Chicharon and Walk of Shame burger alongside any genre of music lol. Thank you so much Aldous and the B&B team! My bacon-loving self was truly grateful.

Cheers,
Michelle
